A Bit About Deborah

In a nutshell…

I’m a trained actress in theatre, film, TV and commercials. I am an acting coach and theatre professional with over 30 years’ experience that have included television, film and theatre. Within those, my career has spanned acting, locations manager, wardrobe, casting and production management.

I coach adults from complete beginners through to experienced and working actors, keeping acting practical, straightforward and, above all … getting up and doing.

My industry experience means I understand both sides of production — not just the point of view of an actor, but what is expected of actors from the production side. So when you step into the wider industry, you are better prepared.

Filming — From Training to Industry We Bridge The Gap

I believe actors need the opportunity to put their training into practice. That’s why we create micros and short films, giving our actors valuable experience on camera and the opportunity to build a body of work they can use when putting themselves forward to the industry.

There are no shortcuts or promises of work — just good training, lots of support, practical experience and the confidence to take the next step.

Why I Coach

I love watching actors grow, whether that’s someone discovering acting for the first time, returning after years away, or an experienced actor finding something new in their work.

The Actors Workroom is about learning, doing, making mistakes, taking risks and becoming a better actor — and of course, fun.
